INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Officers with IMPD say a man led officers on a chase with an innocent man in the passenger seat.

The chase ended around 1 a.m. Tuesday, just east of downtown on Washington Street.

It started on the west side near Lynhurst and Sam Jones Parkway.

That’s where police say the driver of a truck offered to take someone home.

Police said the truck was driving suspiciously and tried to pull the truck over, but the driver would not stop.

The driver eventually crashed and then climbed onto the roof of a building.

Police say he eventually jumped down and a police dog was able to catch him.

Officers say they think the truck had been stolen. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
