INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – You’ll hear a lot of hype over the next 10 days about the upcoming Super Bowl in New York/New Jersey.
And while the Indianapolis Colts won’t be in the game, an Indianapolis company is a big player in this year’s event.
Maingate is the official retailer of all Super Bowl merchandise at 34 hotels in New York and New Jersey. The merchandise includes everything from pennants to trading pins, from hats to jerseys and thousands of other items.
This marks Maingate’s third Super Bowl, starting with Indianapolis back in 2012. But because this one is in the nation’s No. 1 media market, the stakes are higher than ever before.
“Being in New York is going to be magnified even brighter and bigger as everything is in New York. They just have so many more people. And with most of our outlets in hotels, the size of the hotels in New York are bigger than anything we’ve been in,” said David Moroknek, president and CEO of Maingate.
The event is so big, the company is renting a warehouse in East Rutherford New Jersey where the merchandise is being shipped for distribution to the hotels.
Maingate is also running the retail side of the host committee’s website.
