INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The gifts our viewers willingly donated over the past few weeks were distributed to deserving families Thursday.

Thursday evening, those families picked out presents at the “Salvation Army-WISH Tree Toy Shop.”

Our very own Scott Sander and Walter Allen were there to help hand out the presents.

The Salvation Army has already selected around 800 families to pick from the toys locals have donated all this month, thanks to the help of the donations collected here at WISH-TV and at Huntington Bank locations.

“We could all find ourselves in a position of need at some time, and our employees recognize that and they are thrilled to partner with folks who really understand critical needs,” Mike Newbold, president of Huntington Bank of Indiana said.

Hoosiers donated more than $3,000 in cash to the Salvation Army at Sunday’s Colts game alone. You can still donate at any of the red kettles you see around town.
