A classic car was stolen out of a Johnson County garage, and police hope the public can help track down who’s responsible.

The green 1953 Hudson Wasp was kept in the garage. A witness told police two white men in their 20s got the car out of the garage and took it away on a red, flatbed truck.

The car was taken from the 1700 block of South Mauxferry Road, which is just south of U.S. 31. The owner of the Wasp wasn’t home at the time.

The witness saw the car taken away southbound on Mauxferry Road around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Its last plate number was 41J582.
