FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – Two Indiana women tied the knot in front of 29 million people Sunday night.

Caroline and Sharon are from Fishers. They flew out to Los Angeles on Thursday and have been taking in the sights of Hollywood for the first time.

Their daughter told 24-Hour News 8 the west coast tour was prompted by an invitation to share their nuptials on the stage of the Grammys.

Caroline and Sharon have been in a committed relationship for more than 20 years. Now their commitment is in writing with a marriage certificate signed by Queen Latifah, who officiated the ceremony during a performance by Macklemore.

[…] While the French duo Daft Punk walked away as the winners of the night’s two biggest trophies at this year’s Grammy Awards–Record of the Year and Album of the Year, we couldn’t help but notice there were Hoosier ties to the ceremonies. As Best New Artist winners, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, performed their hit “Same Love,”  dozens of gay and straight couples stood in the aisles for a wedding ceremony officiated by Queen Latifah. Among them was an Indiana couple,  Caroline and Sharon, who have been in a relationship for two decades. These Hoosiers who live in the Fishers area, got married in front of  29 million people who viewed music’s biggest night, despite the same-sex marriage debate raging in the Indiana statehouse.
