INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD Sgt. Robert Hipple is on search for those loving in the cold.

Hipple’s first stop brought him just under I-70 bridge near Kentucky Avenue. At that location, a dirt row is lined with makeshift homes. 24-Hour News 8 watched as Hipple went inside each one searching for people.

“Everyone is out of the camp, and in a shelter somewhere,” Hipple said.

Depending on the conditions, Hipple could force a resident out of the cold and into a shelter. Because of Monday night’s forecast, he will force the homeless to seek shelter.

It’s estimated that IMPD spent 14 man hours on Monday searching for those that refuse to seek shelter.
