INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Because of the dangerously cold temperatures, many schools and government offices are closed on Tuesday.
At 5 a.m., area YMCAs are normally welcoming their first early riser exercisers – not Tuesday. All YMCA branches are waiting to open until noon on Tuesday.
Not much is running normally when it comes to the city of Indianapolis. It and the county government are closed including courts. Most schools are also closed Tuesday and trash collection has been canceled for the first half of the week.

The Indy Go bus service is operating as normal. Users are warned to dress very warmly and cover all skin while waiting at stops.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is not asking businesses to close like he did earlier this month, just that owners take care in deciding if opening is really necessary.
Several YMCA branches offer a certain kind of child care through its School’s Out camp.
Kids can spend the day at the Ransburg location or the Baxter, Benjamin Harrison, Fishers and Jordan YMCAs.
