INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are investigating after a scary ordeal Thursday morning.
Fear instantly struck a mother of two as she laid in bed with her husband when an intruder stormed into her home demanding cash.
Her husband tried to explain to the gunman that they didn’t have any money.
“I said, ‘please don’t hurt my kids don’t hurt my family,'” said the victim, who wished to remain nameless.
During the chaos, the woman learned the gunman was also holding her brother -in-law hostage.
The gunman loaded the three people in the car and then he made them drive to another ATM.
The family could not get any money out of the machine. Finally, police say, the suspect had the victims drop him off near St. Vincent Hospital where he took off on foot.
According to police , the suspect targeted the brother-in-law first at an apartment complex on the 2400 block of Plaza Drive .
There, the suspect forced the man in a car and made him drive to an ATM. Once at the bank, the 37-year-old Nigerian man explained to the suspect that he didn’t know his PIN number. That’s when the suspect demand the victim take him to a relatives home.
