TENNYSON, Ind. (AP) — State troopers say a southwestern Indiana woman was seriously injured when her car slid on a sheet of ice that formed above a water main damaged by this week’s frigid readings.

They say 22-year-old Johanna Leslie of Dale suffered a head injury in Wednesday night’s accident and was listed in critical condition Thursday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville.

Troopers say Leslie was driving along State Road 68 near the Warrick County town of Tennyson when her car slid on ice that formed over a broken water main. She lost control of her car, which slid across oncoming lanes of traffic, entered a ditch and then struck a tree.
