Winter advisory expires, wintry mix moves in Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -There is a winter weather advisory for parts of central Indiana expired at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday will see mainly rain for central Indiana by mid-morning, and rain is likely for much of the day. Areas to the north (Kokomo, Lafayette, Marion) may have some light icing (less than .1 inch) during the day before temperatures rise above freezing there.

On the back side of the system, temperatures will drop again. Rain will change back to snow briefly before wrapping up. Some additional accumulation of around 1 inch with maybe 2 inches in places is expected.

Sunday and Monday we will get a break from the wintry systems. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy but temperatures will be colder. Highs in the 20s and lows in the 10s and 20s.
