Pizza delivery driver shot dead on south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirms a pizza delivery driver was shot and killed Friday night.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 4100 block of Continental Court, just off Hanna and East Streets.

IMPD officials say a man in his 30s was delivered a pizza to a couple in that area. Shortly after the man dropped off the pizza, the couple walked outside and spotted the man laying face down.

Police officials say he was shot and later pronounced dead.  Police also say the suspect stole the driver’s vehicle. Police are now searching for the 1995 Jeep Cherokee Laredo with Indiana license plate 976CAV.

Officers say the man was delivering pizza from Papa John’s.
