INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – More than 300 Butler students got together and danced in the hopes of raising money for Riley Hospital for Children.
Butler Dance Marathon consisted of 12 hours of dance, games and fun.
Their goal is to raise $135,000 for Riley Hospital for Children.
Another motivator, besides dancing, is listening to the stories from the Riley kids and hearing their fight against disease, overcoming sickness and what the money is used for.
One of the organizers is a former Riley patient and says getting support is easier than he thought.
“I told them about it and I was just floored when they all wanted to come out and they heard it was dancing for 12 hours. That’s what it seems like at first but you hear all these compelling stories, it’s an awesome experience,” Eric Gregory told 24-Hour News 8.
Saturday night, there will be a Riley kids talent show judged by Colts longsnapper Matt Overton.
Last year, the event raised more than $128,000.
