Marion County sheriff files for re-election

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Marion County Sheriff John Layton threw his hat in the ring Monday and filed for re-election.

During his role as sheriff, Layton says the Marion County Sheriff’s Office earned three national accreditations, opened Hope Hall and collaborated with local and federal law enforcement agencies.

He says he hopes to continue to protect and serve for another four years.

Layton has been the sheriff since January 2011. He has been with the department for the past 40 years.
