Purdue professor shot multiple times now listed in good condition

TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WISH) – A Purdue professor who was shot by her husband multiple times Thursday was listed in good condition Monday night.

Police say Marcia Gentry, 51, was shot around 8:45 p.m. Thursday in her West Lafayette residence. Her husband, William Byers, 64, was found dead inside with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Gentry was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis in serious condition on Thursday and was upgraded to good condition on Monday.
