Federal charges announced in human trafficking case

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett announced on Tuesday he is filing federal charges in a sex trafficking case where two girls, ages 12 and 16, were sold into prostitution.

According to Hogsett, he is charging Jerry Mitchell with seven counts, including child molesting, human trafficking, and promoting prostitution.

If convicted, Mitchell could face life in prison. Currently Mitchell is awaiting trial in the Marion County Jail.
