State Police: Person hit on I-70 near north split

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pedestrian was hit on Interstate 70 on Tuesday morning, dispatchers with Indiana State Police said.

It happened shortly before 8 a.m. on eastbound I-70 at the 87.6 mile marker, just east of the north split.

State Police said a man was running in and out of traffic on I-70 when he was hit by a semi. Police say the victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He was alert and conscious when he left the scene.

Police say the driver of the semi was not hurt.
