Stephenson still day to day with back injury

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Lance Stephenson remains day to day with a bruised lower back after taking a hard fall against Atlanta.

“I knew if I stuck my arm out to catch my balance, I would’ve broken my arm,” said Stephenson. “I just tried to do a little flip and protect my neck at the same time. I’m just happy I fell the way I did.”

While Stephenson did not practice on Thursday, he did shoot around afterwards. They’re hoping his back may be healed up before Friday’s game against the Portland Trailblazers, but there’s no set timeline.

“I’m going to see about tomorrow,” added Stephenson. “Like I said, I’m day to day, and hopefully tomorrow, I’ll be on the floor and help my team win.”
