Putnam Co. man accused in teen sex case

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (WISH) — A rural Putnam County man was arrested on Friday, accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

William J. Brewer, 23, was arrested on preliminary charges of child solicitation, vicarious sexual gratification and sexual misconduct with a minor, all felonies.

The arrest came about after the teen told a parent what happened. According to the girl, the two became acquainted and exchanged text messages about dating and sex. In late January, Brewer is accused of having sexual encounters with the girl in his car and at his home.

Brewer was jailed in Putnam County on $2,500 bond.
