KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Police said a man who drove away after not paying for his gas at a Leesburg gas station led police on a pursuit Friday morning.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Brandon Stuart Alfano, 25, of Leesburg, got $40 worth of gas at Katies Kwik Mart and then left without paying at around 8:30 a.m.

Police identified Alfano’s vehicle heading eastbound on Armstrong Road, near the intersection of County Road 200 East. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Alfano kept driving, our sister station WANE reports.

Alfano eventually turned his car around and headed towards the officer’s squad car head-on.
Police said Alfano eventually stopped his car and the officer held him at gunpoint after seeing Alfano grab what appeared to be a handgun in his center counsel. According to police, the weapon was actually a pellet gun.

Alfano was arrested at the scene. Police found meth on him during the arrest, according to the sheriff’s department.

According to police, Alfano is facing charges of theft, fleeing from law enforcement with a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, and operating a motor vehicle while determined to be a habitual traffic violator.
