INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was seriously injured after a Wayne Township house fire.

The fire broke out in the 5200 block of West Caven Street around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

Officials say two civilians were driving by, saw fire coming from the house, and called 911. Those people forced their way into the home and found a man lying on the floor of the home and carried him out.

The man who was rescued from the home was taken to Eskenazi with serious injuries.

No one else was home at the time of the fire. It took crews about 10 minutes to control.
