INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) -Saturday, a  family reunited with first responders who helped bring their baby into the world.

Amy Poer says this was her fifth child and she was prone to fast deliveries, but this one was even faster.

She says she was at home and started serious labor around 1 a.m. on January 7.

Paramedics had planned on carrying Amy to an ambulance and getting her to a hospital to deliver, but she knew she wouldn’t make it to the hospital. Liliah was born less than two hours later in her home.

“I just thought, I really don’t think we’re going to make it. I don’t know that we can.  Maybe, but let’s not push it,” Poer told 24-Hour News 8.

Baby Liliah was born at 2:55 a.m. on January 7.

After the delivery, Liliah’s dad cut the umbilical cord then both Amy and Liliwere taken to Community Hospital North by ambulance. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
