INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD officers say arrests in an east side motel shooting and the murder of the pizza delivery driver are examples of how law enforcement is working together to fight crime.

“We’re going to root out this evil in our community and that’s what you’re seein,” Public Information Officer Christopher Wilburn said.

He says the teamwork of different agencies joining with the community is leading to these arrests.

“Just this weekend, officers stepped up patrols in troubled neighborhoods. for us it’s simple. If you think you’re going to come to Indianapolis and do illegal or illicit activity, then it’s not going to be tolerated.”

Wilburn says community input is critical to cleaning up crime. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
