INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD officials confirm a man who was shot at a west side motel Saturday afternoon, has died from his injuries.

The victim in that shooting has been identified as 29-year-old Dustin Woods of Terre Haute.

IMPD detectives believe Woods had arrangements to meet Eric Johnson and Alejandro Mauricio in Indianapolis to buy and sell narcotics. At that meeting, police believe Woods and another person inside the motel were robbed. Police say Woods confronted Johnson and Mauricio outside of the motel room.

Witnesses told police they heard several gunshots. At the scene, police found Woods shot in the head. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

Police seized a large amount of narcotics from the scene.

Johnson was arrested a short time after the shooting.

Mauricio has been identified as the suspect who barricaded himself inside of a residence late Saturday night. A SWAT team was called to persuade Mauricio to surrender. After several hours, officers entered the home and Mauricio was taken into custody.
