Munster firefighter dies after responding to car crash

MUNSTER, Ind. (WISH) – A Munster firefighter suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday after returning home from responding to a car crash.

Munster Fire Chief James Knesek, 59, was a veteran with the department. He worked for the City of Muster and director of public works for 34 years. He leaves behind his wife, Julie, and son, James, Jr., who is also a firefighter.
