LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WISH) – Due to the large number of snow days, students in Logansport will stay at school longer from Feb. 17 to April 30.

24-Hour News 8 news partner The Logansport Pharos-Tribune reports each day during that time period will be extended by an hour. The extended school days were approved during the Logansport School Corp. school board on Monday.

School officials say extending the school day is a new concept for the district and is one that will not cost taxpayers a dime.

As of Monday, the district has had 11 snow days; two were waived by state officials and one will be made up on Presidents’ Day.

The extended school days means students will not have Saturday classes. Graduation will not be postponed.
