URBANA, Ind. (WANE) – A hog farm was damaged Monday night after a large fire started in Wabash County.

Urbana firefighters were first called at 10:20 p.m. to a farm in the 130o block of County Road West 500 North. The farm is about nine miles north of Wabash and about a mile west of Urbana.

At least six fire departments in Wabash County were called to the scene. Wabash County dispatchers said most departments had left the farm by 2 a.m. Tuesday morning, but Urbana firefighters were still on scene assessing the damage.

A viewer sent pictures that showed heavy smoke and towering flames from at least one barn. No injuries were reported. It’s not clear if any animals were inside the barn that caught fire.

Other details about the fire were not immediately available. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
