INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hundreds of foster children in Indianapolis are getting the gift of reading.

It’s through a program called “A book of My Own.”

At an event Wednesday, the Justice project presented the books to Child Advocates with the CASA and GAL programs.

The courts appoint advocates to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children. The hope is that through having a book that belongs to them, that the children will be reminded that they matter and that they are special. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
