Ballard officiates group vow renewal

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Dozens of couples renewed their wedding vows Friday morning and Indianapolis’ mayor led the ceremony.

Mayor Greg Ballard officiated the group vow renewal ceremony at the City Market. After the free ceremony people listened to live entertainment, took pictures and enjoyed light refreshments.

Market officials hosted a contest to select one couple to marry off in a blue-wedding themed bus. The winning couple was treated to a legal ceremony including officiate, recorded music, flowers, lunch at City Market, a wedding cake and tickets to a 3-course dinner. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
