INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD announced they are adding another recruitment class. The department is looking for 30 new officers.
“If you desire to challenge yourself and advance your life, you may have what it takes to work for the best police department in the country,” said IMPD Chief Richard Hite.
At a meeting to curb violence Saturday morning, Sergeant Kendale Adams with IMPD talked about violence and a teenager who is still fighting for his life after being recently being shot at a birthday party. He says stopping violent crimes takes much more than officers.
“If you study law enforcement across the lines, it’s never been a department that has solved the issue. It’s always been a department that has been with a number of different entities that have come together to combat the crime in that particular area” Adams told 24-Hour News 8.
The deadline to apply for a position with IMPD is February 28. The class will begin in October of 2014. If you are interested in a position, click here or send an email to IMPD_Recruiter@indy.gov.
