INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis fire officials say a furnace motor started a fire overnight Sunday at an apartment complex.

Just after midnight, firefighters were called to the 10200 block of John Jay Drive, which is in the Amber Woods Cooperative. Those apartments are a little southeast of Lawrence.

Fire officials say the apartment had some smoke damage, and no one was hurt.

At the same time fire crews were getting to the apartment, a water main broke in the complex. Water was flowing into the parking lot.

Managers of the complex were at the scene so they were aware of the issue. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
