Pick-up flips on side after hitting I-65 slick spot

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pick-up truck driver and passenger needed help getting out of their vehicle after it flipped on it’s side early Monday.

Shortly after 4 a.m. emergency crews were called to Southbound Interstate 65 near Meridian and Pennsylvania streets. Indiana State Police say the pick up truck may have hit a slick spot, lost control,  and struck a barrier wall before flipping onto its side.

Emergency responders helped the pair get out of the overturned vehicle.  Both were checked out by medics and released at the scene.The impact of the crash broke loose some snow and ice piled at the side of the road.

INDOT crews were called to help clean up the scene.
