Airport crews continue to inspect canopy that fell Tuesday

(Chopper 8)

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis International Airport crews have finished cutting down the dangling fabric from the section that came crashing down on the parking garage on Tuesday.

Officials say they will inspect the area, such as the truss and connector.

Moving forward, experts will consider options like the angle of the canopy, adding heaters or replacing the fabric with a hardened canopy.

Officials say the current canopy was under warranty and will be replaced for free. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
