INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis is the center of the NFL world this week. It’s day one of the annual Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Hundreds of draft-eligible players from across the country were on hand for the ultimate job interview.

Every team’s head coach and general manager will examine and watch players work out, run, and lift weights to see if they will  fit their system. Lots of Colts connections were on hand as well.

The 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, new Lions coach Jim Caldwell met with the media along with ESPN’s Bill Polian. The former Colts GM told 24-Hour News 8 what the team might be looking for in the upcoming draft without a first round pick.

“However Richardson may turn out, that pick is gone,” said Polian. “It’s Richardson. Is he going to perform or not, we’ll see. Relative to not having one,  A. you look and see if there’s a way you can get one by trading up, you have to weigh the price there. And B.,if you don’t have one, get ready be able to draft as well as you can draft from two on down.”

Current Colts GM Ryan Grigson and coach Chuck Pagano will address the media Friday afternoon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
