INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after four people were found dead in an Indianapolis home Thursday night.

After receiving a 911 call, officials say they found four people inside a home in the 3400 block of South Parker Avenue. After obtaining a search warrant, detectives confirmed they found the bodies of two men and two women, suffering from obvious signs of trauma.

Detectives released the names of the victims Friday morning. They have been identified as Hayley Navarra, 21, Kristy Mae Sanchez, 22, Jacob Rodemich, 43, and Walter Burnell, 47, all of Indianapolis. Police say all of the victims were shot.

No information is known about the relationship of the victims or if they lived at the residence.

Officials said in a news release, “Because of the complexities of this particular case, detectives have not yet released specific suspect information, but urge anyone with information about this incident to call IMPD homicide detectives at 317-327-3475.”

Investigators do not believe this is a random act. The motive behind the incident is unknown and no suspect(s) had been identified as of Friday morning.

Animal Control was also called to the scene to take care of live animals at the home. Neighbors 24-Hour News 8 spoke with say they were disturbed and saddened by the news, saying the neighborhood is typically quiet.

The deaths were four of eight reported in a 15-hour period in Indianapolis. A 50-year-old man was found dead inside of a home Thursday morning, a 16-year-old was shot and killed Thursday evening, and two men died after a shooting early Friday morning.

Mayor Greg Ballard released the following statement Friday morning:

“The past few hours have been challenging for the city. Any death under these circumstances is tragic. While no one deserves to be a victim, initial reports indicate these were not random acts of violence. The victims knew their assailants. I have complete faith in the men and women of IMPD and know they will work diligently to identify all suspects and bring them to justice.”

The homicides prompted IMPD Chief Rick Hite to hold an informal meeting with media on Friday. Hite sent a clear message: engage in criminal activity and you could become the city’s latest homicide victim.

Anyone with information about this incident to call IMPD at 317-327-3475.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317-262-TIPS (8477).  Callers may also text “INDYCS” plus tip information to 274627 (CRIMES).
