LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Lafayette Police Department has released more details concerning the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Union Street Tuesday night. Police are seeking the community’s assistance in locating the vehicle.
According to Lafayette Police Technician Matt Devine, the vehicle in question is believed to have round-shaped headlights and be an older model vehicle, possibly 1985 or older. Devine said the vehicle will have damage to the front, passenger-side headlight and possible damage on the front, right-side grill.
Police said the hit-and-run occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Union Street Tuesday. When officers arrived on scene, they found a man with injuries, including one to the head. Medical aid was provided on scene, but a short time later he was pronounced dead by medics, our sister station WLFI reports.
