Plane crash reported at Marion Municipal Airport

MARION, Ind. (WISH) – Police in Marion, Ind. responded to reports of a plane crash at the Marion Municipal Airport Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Officials with the Marion Police Department say the pilot made to police that he had crashed his plane and needed help.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found the plane sitting on its top. Emergency responders were able to free the pilot and he was transported to Marion General Hospital with cuts and scrapes. Officials said he was expected to be released shortly after.
