INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A weak winter weather system is moving through a good part of central Indiana. The good news is that the system is a fairly weak one.
The wintry mix will change to wet, heavy snow as temperatures fall. The system moves east and south through the state Saturday night.
The latest forecast models show that the snow accumulation will be focused on areas along I-70 and north. Southern Indiana should stay warm enough for a wintry mix.
By daybreak Sunday the northern half of the state will get 1″ to 3″ of snow accumulation. Isolated areas could see over 3″ in the heavier bands. Indianapolis should get around 1″ of snow. The cut off between no snow and 3″ of snow could be sharp.
