About 100 people rescued after Tippecanoe County flooding

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI)- On Friday nearly 20 people were evacuated from their homes on Barton Beach Road in Tippecanoe County, and on Saturday more ice movement along the Wildcat Creek caused more problems in the area.

About 100 people were rescued from a sporting complex on Conservation Club Road on Saturday. Tippecanoe County EMA Director Smokey Anderson said the rescue happened at Legacy Sports Club. He said the ice jam broke more Saturday afternoon causing several inches of water to flood the road.

Anderson said the rescues were calm and swift. Everyone got out safely and drove their vehicles home.
