INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A driver arrested and accused of driving drunk when she hit a man who was changing a tire along Interstate 65 appeared in court on Wednesday.
A judge ordered that the license of Lindsay Standeford be suspended. She’ll be back in court in April. Standeford was employed by the Airport Police Department, but was off duty and with a friend at the time of the crash Saturday on I-65.
The crash happened as Paul Hines helped his girlfriend’s son change a tire near the Meridian Street exit. That’s when investigators say he was hit by the 24-year-old, pinning him between the car and the guardrail.
Indiana State Police say Standeford’s blood alcohol level was .14 percent, which is nearly twice the legal limit.
