Police: Trio arrested after armed robbery

BATESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Police officials say three teens have been arrested after an armed robbery in Batesville Wednesday.

Officials say the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at a home at Village in the Woods apartments. Officers say the 44-year-old victim woke up to a man in his bedroom holding a knife. The victim told police he was forced into the living room of his home, where he saw a second armed suspect.

The victim told police the suspects demanded money and his car keys before leaving the home in the man’s car.

24-Hour News 8’s news gathering partner the Batesville Herald Tribune reports the male victim recognized the suspects as acquaintances of his 15-year-old daughter.

Shortly after the incident, police spotted the suspects in the stolen car. A pursuit ensued, and shortly after, the three were taken into custody.

Officials have identified the arrested at 18-year-old Angel Camarena, a 16-year-old boy and the victim’s daughter. The identities of the two have not been released due to the fact they are minors. All three face charges of armed robbery, criminal confinement, auto theft, and theft.
