INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis firefighters are reminding parents and caregivers about their “car seat” program after a deadly crash Tuesday night.

IMPD detectives say a 7-month-old baby boy was killed in a hit-and-run. Investigators say the boy was not buckled into his car seat.

IFD is now offering car seat help. If you would like help with a car seat, you can call 317-327-7956 to set up an appointment.

If you are in your third trimester, the car seat technician will help you install the seat and show you how to use it with a doll. If your child has already arrived, you are asked to bring them with you to the appointment. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
