INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis man faces 35 charges including rape, burglary, robbery and abduction.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says 27-year-old Michael Parrish went on a “four day reign of terror” in February where he raped and assaulted several women.
Police say the crime spree began February 5. It started with a morning home invasion and robbery on LaSalle Street. Police say Parrish admitted to forcing his way into the home where he sexually assaulted the woman who lived there at knife-point.
“Threats were made to kill the victim, allegedly by Mr. Parrish,” said Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry.
Police say the victim was also beaten and cut with the knife. Parrish wasn’t alone. They say three accomplices helped him steal a number of items from the home.
That same day police say Parrish abducted two women at gunpoint near Michigan and Berwick on the city’s West side.
Police say Parrish shot and raped one of the women inside the van. He then forced his victims to take him to the Regal 8 Inn on West Washington. According to court documents, Parrish sexually assaulted both women in the motel room.
The very next day, February 6, police say Parrish abducted two women and a child at gunpoint outside the Avon Walmart. Police say Parrish forced the women to drive to multiple locations where he sexually assaulted both victims.
“Both victims were threatened of being killed including threats to kill the 3 year old child of one of the victims,” said Curry.
Two days later, February 8, police say Parrish robbed a woman at gunpoint in the Kohl’s parking lot in Plainfield. Police say Parrish tried to abduct the woman but she got away.
Parrish is being held on a $1 million in Hendricks County, where he faces additional charges there.
