INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis woman came home from running errands to find her home burning.

The fire broke out in the 3200 block of Shady Grove Court Thursday afternoon. The woman’s husband, son and grandson were at the home at the time of the fire.

The son and grandson alerted the husband to a fire in the basement. They said a mattress had caught fire. Everyone, including a chihuahua, was able to escape the home safely.

The grandson suffered minor burns to his arm after he tried to remove the mattress from the house.

The fire left about  $75,000 worth of damage to the home.
