SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (AP) — One of central Indiana’s two pari-mutuel horse racing tracks and its sister casino have changed their names.

Indiana Grand Casino and Indiana Downs in Shelbyville announced Thursday that the once separate gaming and racing facilities will now operate as one under the new Indiana Grand Racing & Casino name. The change was effective immediately.

Indiana Grand says the name change is part of a rebranding initiative to combine the horse track and casino into one property that aligns with parent company Centaur Gaming’s goal of providing guests a fully integrated racing and gaming experience.

Although the Indiana Grand Racing & Casino name refers to the property as a whole, the track itself will be renamed to Indiana Grand Race Course in racing publications. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
