INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – After a few days of warm, spring-like weather, winter returned Wednesday.

Rain moved in overnight and was falling Wednesday morning in the metro area. That rain turned into snow in Indianapolis by between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Snow had already been falling in northern Indiana, and power outages were reported. Snow began to move out of Central Indiana around 1 p.m.

Despite the snow, there weren’t many major traffic accidents as of noon in the metro area.

Temperatures will drop Wednesday afternoon, with wind chills in the teens.
