WHITELAND, Ind. (WISH) — Southbound Interstate 65 was shut down near the Whiteland Road exit Wednesday morning, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office officials report.

A semi that crashed in the area initially blocked all southbound lanes near the 93 mile marker, though one lane was opened shortly after. Traffic backups were still visible in the area.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether anyone was injured. Drivers should avoid the area and exit at the 95 mile marker or earlier. U.S. 31 is a possible detour route to get around the crash.
