Neighbors spot fire that badly damaged home on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis firefighters say neighbors are credited with spotting a home on fire near West 44th Street and Kessler Boulevard late Wednesday.

Fire crews were called to the 4400 block of Clover Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived, flames were already through the roof of the one-story brick home.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters brought the flames under control in 20 minutes.  Damage was estimated at $185,000.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
