INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – According to Perry Township School officials, a water main break has caused the dismissal of two schools on the city’s south side.

Students at Perry Meridian 6th Grade Academy and Perry Meridian Middle School were dismissed at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

Citizens Energy Group says they have crews working to repair the water main break at 8000 S. Meridian Street and expect the water to be back on by 1 p.m. Thursday.

Officials say aging infrastructure and cold temperatures caused the break.
