DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Officials say a body discovered Friday is that of a woman who was swept off State Road 257 at the Pike-Daviess County line and into flood waters of the White River.

A missing person investigation began in December when the vehicle of Adam and Kathryn McGill was swept into the White River. Adam was rescued by nearby hunters, but Kathryn was never found.

Around 1:45 p.m. Friday, a resident found a body on top of corn stalks neat a creek that feeds into the White River.

An autopsy Saturday afternoon confirmed the body was that of Kathryn McGill.
