ELWOOD, Ind. (WISH) – A California man suspected of trafficking large amounts of marijuana and controlled substances was arrested early Sunday morning in Elwood.
Officials say police pulled the man over during a routine traffic stop. The officer noticed the driver was acting strange and was providing confusing details. Therefore, the officer called for the help of a K9.
24-Hour News 8’s news gathering partner the Herald Bulletin reports the K9 responded to odors coming from the back tires. Officers found two plastic bags of marijuana in the car and several other bags in the trunk. The total amount was about 4.5 pounds. Officers also reported finding 70 pills, none of which the man had a prescription for.
The man was identified as 64-year-old Donald L. Henderson of Littlerock, Calif. He faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies.
